Spreading the Word

by AUTHOR & ORIGINAL WEBSITE BELOW on December 24, 2011

In his message for the 44th World Communications Day, Pope Benedict XVI wrote, ?The increased availability of the new technologies demands greater responsibility on the part of those called to proclaim the Word, but it also requires them to become more focused, efficient and compelling in their efforts.?

Jennifer Willits, a Catholic radio personality, responds to this quote saying, ?Yes, there are dangers with technology. But with responsibility and a spiritual focus, it?s nothing short of amazing what we as Catholics can create and learn about our faith through the latest and greatest of technological advancements.?

As someone who is immersed in technology on a daily basis through our radio program and video projects here at Franciscan Media, I can totally relate. It is amazing what can be done with technology. Granted, there are plenty of bad uses such as the proliferation of pornography on the internet, but there is so much good that can be done.

Franciscan Media seeks to spread the Word that is Jesus Christ in the style of Saints Francis, Clare and Anthony.  Through print and electronic media marketed in North America and worldwide, we endeavor to evangelize, inspire and inform those who search for God and seek a richer Catholic, Christian, human life.
